Goodbash Payment Policy
Last updated: February 20, 2026
This Payments Policy (“Policy”) explains how payments, authorizations, refunds, and payouts work on the Goodbash platform (“Goodbash,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Policy forms part of and is incorporated into the Goodbash Terms of Service (“Terms”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings set out in the Terms.
By using Goodbash to make or accept payments, you agree to this Policy.
1. Role of Goodbash
Goodbash operates an online marketplace that facilitates transactions between customers (“Customers”) and independent service providers (“Vendors”).
Goodbash is not a party to the contract for services between Customers and Vendors. Vendors are solely responsible for providing their services, setting prices, issuing invoices where applicable, and complying with all legal, tax, and regulatory obligations related to their services.
Goodbash acts as a payment facilitator and intermediary, processing payments on behalf of Vendors through third-party payment processors.
2. Payment Authorization & Capture
When a Customer places an order through Goodbash:
The Customer authorizes the total estimated amount for the booking.
Funds may be authorized but not immediately captured.
Charges are captured only when:
- A Vendor confirms availability or accepts the booking; or
- A milestone or service confirmation occurs, depending on the service type.
If a Vendor declines or cannot fulfill a booking, the corresponding amount is not captured, and any pending authorization is released in accordance with the payment processor’s timelines.
3. Pricing, Fees & Taxes
3.1 Vendor Pricing
Vendors set their own prices for services offered through Goodbash. Goodbash does not control or guarantee pricing.
3.2 Platform Fees
For Customers, Goodbash may charge service fees, processing fees, or marketplace fees, which will be clearly disclosed to Customers prior to checkout.
For Vendors, Goodbash will charge service fees [5%], and processing fees [2.5%], which will be clearly disclosed to Vendors during onboarding.
3.3 Taxes
Vendors are solely responsible for:
Determining applicable taxes;
Charging, collecting, reporting, and remitting any taxes related to their services.
Goodbash does not provide tax advice and does not assume responsibility for Vendors’ tax obligations unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.
4. Refunds & Cancellations
Refund eligibility depends on:
- Whether services have been accepted, confirmed, or performed.
Where a refund is approved:
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method;
Processing timelines depend on the payment processor and financial institution.
Goodbash may assist with refund processing but does not guarantee refunds beyond what is required under applicable consumer protection laws.
5. Vendor Payouts
Vendors receive payouts for completed services, less applicable fees, via Goodbash’s payment processor.
Payout timing depends on:
Completion or confirmation of services;
Dispute status;
Processor settlement timelines.
Goodbash reserves the right to delay payouts in cases of suspected fraud, disputes, or policy violations.
6. Disputes, Chargebacks & Liability
Customers should first attempt to resolve disputes directly with Vendors. Goodbash may assist but is not obligated to resolve disputes.
In the event of a chargeback:
The Vendor bears responsibility for responding and providing documentation;
Disputed amounts may be withheld pending resolution.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Goodbash is not liable for Vendor services;
Goodbash is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages;
Nothing in this Policy limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or non-waivable statutory rights.
7. Payment Processors
Payments are processed through third-party payment processors. Your use of those services is subject to their terms and privacy policies. Goodbash is not responsible for processor errors, outages, or delays beyond its reasonable control.
8. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform. Continued use of Goodbash constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
